Discord - Continued

The diversity of topics in Discord, related to amateur radio is really something. For instance, if QRP and/or portable operations are more to your liking, here are four servers on my own list that you might like:

Four States QRP (4SQRP) https://discord.gg/dtSJhDpQ5U

The Four State QRP Group promotes friendly QRP operation, kit building, and sponsors the annual 4SQRP Ozarkcon convention in Branson, MO.

The Flying Pigs QRP Club, International https://discord.gg/FvjjumUdGE

The FP QRP club goal is to promote the art, skill, and fun of low power Amateur Radio Communications to fellow amateur Radio Operators. Also work to promote the home construction of Amateur Radio Equipment to the same amateur Radio Operators, even if they are not FP members.

Text channels include General discussion, morse code learning tools, spotting pigs in teh wild, and digi-pigs. Fun group!

Beyond the Classroom: CW-Friendly Discord Communities

Looking for a little more CW & ham-radio community?

A number of CW Academy students and alumni spend time on Discord — think of it as a 24/7 virtual ham shack with lots of friends and fellow ham radio operators stopping by.

You don’t have to talk, you don’t have to be “fast,” and you don’t have to stay long. Many folks just read, lurk, or use specific tools (like CW practice channels). Here are a few of my favorites:

CW Ops / CW Academy Discord

Many of you already know this one — it’s active, friendly, and includes CW practice channels, tech discussion, slow & medium speed tests, and even a virtual hamfest.

Always good to have different perspectives than just what's in the various curriculum guides. Thanks, Wayne.

Yep, I'm a Linux guy. This seemed interesting
